Manual
Setting up AQUmi devices and using the AQUmi Portal, step by step. Button and field names are given exactly as they appear in each device's panel (the AQUmi One panel is in Polish — its labels are given with a translation).
1. AQUmi DisplayOne — first start
- Plug DisplayOne in (USB, 5 V).
- On first start the device creates its own WiFi network whose name starts with
AqumiDisplayOne-. Connect to it with your phone or laptop — the setup page usually opens by itself; if not, go tohttp://192.168.4.1in a browser. - Under WiFi network, pick your network from Detected networks (or type its name), enter the password and click Save and connect. DisplayOne restarts and joins your network.
- More than one DisplayOne? Give each a different name under Device name.
- Open the DisplayOne panel in a browser — its local address is shown on the device's screen. The panel only works on your home or office network.
- Recommended: under Dashboard login, set a password (the username is
admin). Viewing always works without a password, but saving settings, pairing and updates will then require signing in.
2. Pairing a TempOne sensor with DisplayOne
- In the DisplayOne panel, under Pair devices, click Enable pairing.
- Plug the TempOne in. It finds DisplayOne nearby by itself and shortly appears in the list of waiting sensors.
- Approve the sensor with the button next to its name. It receives the WiFi details from DisplayOne and joins your network for good.
- The sensor appears under Sensors with its current temperature. You can rename it with the pencil icon.
Sensor not showing up? Make sure pairing is on and plug the TempOne in again. There's also a Scan for sensors button under Sensors.
3. TempOne without DisplayOne
- Plug the TempOne in. If it finds no DisplayOne nearby, after a while it creates its own WiFi network
AqumiTempOne-…, passwordaqumiSetup1!. - Connect to it and open
http://192.168.4.1. Enter your WiFi details. - The sensor joins your network and sends its readings to the AQUmi Portal. Email us at biuro@peha68.pl — we approve it and assign it to your account.
4. AQUmi One
First start
- Plug AQUmi One in. With no saved WiFi it creates its own network
AQUmi …(with the device's serial number), default password12345678. - Connect to it, open
http://192.168.4.1in a browser and save your WiFi details. From then on the AQUmi One panel is available at its address on your local network.
Showing it on the DisplayOne screen
- Find the AQUmi One's IP address on your network (e.g. in your router or in the device panel).
- In the DisplayOne panel, under AQUmi One on this network, enter that address and click Save. DisplayOne starts showing pH, TDS and temperature.
- The Push WiFi settings now button saves the network chosen in DisplayOne on the AQUmi One as a backup — no need to type it in by hand.
Without DisplayOne — straight to the portal
- In the AQUmi One panel, open the configuration and tick Wysyłaj dane bezpośrednio do portalu ("send data straight to the portal"). The AQUMI PORTAL URL field should contain
http://portal.aqumi.pl/ingest. Leave the token field empty — it fills in by itself. - Save and let us know — once approved, the device appears in your portal account.
pH probe calibration
Calibration is done in the AQUmi One panel, in pH 4 and pH 7 buffers. The portal reminds you after 90 days (by email or push on the Pro plan).
5. Alarms
- TempOne temperature: in the DisplayOne panel, under Sensors, set Low-temp alert below and High-temp alert above and click Save. A reading out of range is highlighted on the DisplayOne screen and in the panel.
- AQUmi One pH and TDS: in the DisplayOne panel under Alert range, or in the AQUmi One's own panel.
- All limits can also be changed remotely in the AQUmi Portal.
6. AQUmi Portal
Account and signing in
- We create your account for your Google account address (e.g. Gmail) — tell us which devices should appear in it.
- Go to portal.aqumi.pl and click Zaloguj przez Google ("Sign in with Google"). You stay signed in for 180 days from your last visit; sign out with Log out at the top of the page.
- Add the portal to your phone's home screen: on iPhone in Safari, Share → Add to Home Screen; on Android in Chrome, menu → Add to Home screen.
What you see and what you can do
- Each device has its own card with measurement tiles. The alarm range is shown under each value, and a value outside it turns red.
- There's a chart under the tiles. On a device with several measurements, tap a tile to switch the chart to it. On the Pro plan the 24h, 7d, 30d, 1y buttons change the range.
- The bell icon on a tile mutes the alarm for that one value (and turns it back on).
- The gear icon on a card opens its settings: alarm limits and — for AQUmi One — the target pH and temperature (for now saved on the device and shown in its panel; relay control is in the works).
- The arrow icon under the measurements restarts the sensor; a line under the buttons shows whether the command arrived.
Changes made in the portal reach the device the next time it connects to the portal, usually within a minute.
7. Email and push notifications (Pro plan)
- In the portal, scroll down to Notifications.
- Tick Email alerts to get alerts at your address. In the field below you can add up to five more addresses, separated by commas.
- Push: tick Push alerts and, on every phone or computer where you want them, click Enable push on this device, then allow notifications in the browser.
- Click Save.
On iPhone, push notifications only work in the portal added to the home screen (iOS 16.4 or newer) — turn them on by opening the portal from its home-screen icon, not from Safari.
8. Home Assistant
- In the DisplayOne panel, under Home Assistant (MQTT), enter your MQTT broker's address and port, plus the username and password.
- Click Save. The sensors appear in Home Assistant by themselves within about a minute. Leaving the address empty turns the integration off.
9. Firmware updates
The devices check for a new version once a day and install it without your involvement. In the DisplayOne panel, Check for updates checks right away, and Check for update now does the same for an AQUmi One connected to DisplayOne.
If a sensor is on a network with no internet access (e.g. an isolated guest WiFi), turn on Let paired sensor(s) update through this DisplayOne in DisplayOne — the sensor then gets its updates through DisplayOne.
10. Troubleshooting
- The portal shows "offline" — check the device's power and WiFi. Devices reconnect by themselves when the network is back; settings and paired sensors stay saved.
- You changed your WiFi — when DisplayOne can't reach its saved network for a while, it creates the
AqumiDisplayOne-…network again; set it up as in step 1. - A TempOne shows up in the portal as a separate device instead of in the DisplayOne card — on first start it didn't find DisplayOne within 90 seconds and switched to standalone mode. To put it back under DisplayOne:
- open the sensor's page
http://<TempOne IP address>/settingsand click Zmień / zapomnij WiFi ("change / forget WiFi"); - in the DisplayOne panel, under Pair devices, click Enable pairing (DisplayOne must be on and nearby);
- unplug the TempOne for a few seconds and plug it back in — it looks for DisplayOne for 90 seconds;
- approve the sensor in the DisplayOne waiting list;
- let us know — we'll remove the old, separate sensor card from the portal.
- open the sensor's page
- You can't see a device in the portal — email us and we'll check that it's approved and assigned to your account.
- For anything else: biuro@peha68.pl.
